Setting intentions for the winter solstice

Hi friends,

Tuesday marks the solstice, recognized as the first official day of winter. The solstice also represents a gradual return to the light on the shortest day and the longest night of the year.

Let's honor the winter solstice with a mindful moment to help us to fine-tune our intentions and root us firmly on our paths towards personal growth.

Take a moment to get centered and breathe. You may want to light a candle, meditate, stretch, or do whatever helps you focus and find calm. When you're ready, reflect on our journal about the following questions:

  1. How do you feel about the last year? What did you learn?

  2. What did you lose this year? What are you grieving?

  3. What did you gain?

  4. What aspect of yourself would you like to let go of in order to make space for new beginnings?

Once you've reflected on these questions, you can make a list of intentions for the New Year. Consider:

  • What are your hopes for the coming year?

  • What within you needs to change to help you move into the next stage of your life?

  • What are your deepest wishes for the coming days and months ahead?

Most importantly, how will you put action behind the things you want to grow, cultivate, or start in the coming year?

I hope this practice motivates and uplifts you as we welcome the year ahead. This will be my final newsletter of 2021, but I'll see you back here in 2022. Thank you for making this such an inspiring and supportive space!
