Self-care doesn't mean me first, just me too!

Hi friends,

Many of you know that I've been on a Somatic Embodiment journey. After years of mistreating my body and only living from the neck up, my body made it clear that it was time to take care of it. Decades of neglect and 60+ hour work weeks can have toxic effects, and I am re-learning how to be present in my physical body.

So often we move through the world in a self-forgetting state. Everything else and everyone else tends to be more important. Or we confuse our need to care for things and others as our fuel and source in the world. But, we too often forget that unless we are taking care of ourselves completely in the spirit of mind, body, and heart, we'll be empty vessels and not have the capacity to really do anything else.

This is your reminder, once again, that self-care is not selfish! You should not allow guilt or shame to take up space when you are in the mode of self-care. It doesn't have to mean me first, just me too!

What patterns will you let go of that no longer serve you this week? Hit reply to respond and I'll see you back here next Sunday.
