Meeting Yourself in Stillness

As we prepare for the week ahead I'm thinking about the power of stillness. In a culture in which we are encouraged to remain busy and perpetually overbooked, practicing stillness can be a radical act of self-care. Read on for a simple meditation to help you reconnect with yourself and find a deeper sense of peace and purpose.

Stillness doesn’t mean inaction. In fact, taking time out of each day to meditate opens us up to listening, increasing our capacity to do more and return to our authentic selves.

Exercise: Meditation for People Who Don't Have Time to Meditate
20 minutes a day is a great goal for daily meditation, but sometimes starting small is everything. Set a timer for five minutes and take a moment to meet yourself in stillness: focus on your breath, let your body slow, eyes closed, and simply observe your experience. Continuously showing up for yourself, prepared to listen to your body is a truly transformative practice.

I'll leave you with this important quote from Eckhart Tolle.
