It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us

Hi friends,

I love the sentiment behind this quote. I often talk in my newsletters and with clients about imposter syndrome and the loud voice of our inner critics. We find it hard to believe in ourselves fully. Why is that?

Why do we internalize what others may think about us but not trust our own inner knowing?

Things in life can rattle us for sure, shake our confidence, and leave us questioning ourselves. The goal is to not stay in that space for too long and if you do, stay curious about it, and don't judge yourself. When judgment comes into the equation it can begin to feel heavy and constrictive. Like we have no options or possibilities.

I wanted to share this poem with you. I often remind my clients to pay close attention to their own greatness, it's in there, just waiting to be discovered!

Our Deepest Fear
By Marianne Williamson

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.

Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.

It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us.

Your playing small does not serve the world.

There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you.

We are all meant to shine as children do.

It's not just in some of us; it is in everyone.

And as we let our own lights shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.

As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.
