The Infinite Power of Our Light

After a week in a world that feels dark and heavy, I keep returning to some of my favorite quotes for comfort. I've talked a lot about Brené Brown's work in the past, and this quote in particular is so meaningful to me. In The Gifts of Imperfection, Brown writes: "Owning our own story can be hard but not nearly as difficult as spending our lives running from it. Embracing our vulnerabilities is risky but not nearly as dangerous as giving up on love and belonging and joy - the experiences that make us most vulnerable." This deep, meaningful commitment to keeping our hearts open and staying vulnerable is what makes us human, a powerful reminder every day, but especially today.
