Listen: On Vulnerability, Coaching, & Self-Compassion

I'm so excited to share my latest conversation with Chris and Sarah of The Zen Meathead podcast! After I was a guest on the podcast last year I had the pleasure of coaching Chris for a six-month program. When Chris first came to me seeking coaching he wanted to work on making a career transition. He had just quit his tech job and was looking to take some time to reflect and consider what he really wanted to do in his career.

Chris shared his desire to "Take time to figure out what levers to pull" and asked, "What life direction do I have right now? I'm afraid of the transition and downtime." His deeper goals were to "Manifest what will feel safe, create the space to daydream about the future and explore & discover what my passion is." Through reconnecting with and utilizing his superpower of vulnerable courage he came out of the other side of coaching with all kinds of impressive results.

I help my clients craft purpose statements that inspire their coaching journeys. Chris wrote: "I cultivate a deep appreciation of stillness trusting my inner voice as it speaks passion and fiery wisdom to guide my life journey!" It was a lot for him to grasp at first, but it left him in touch with his emotions, recognizing his own value, and realizing that it's work letting others see under all the armor!

Chris had this to say about his coaching experience:

I had the privilege of working with Lori as my life coach, and I cannot express enough how profoundly transformative this experience has been. She has been an invaluable guide on my journey towards finding peace, calm, and purpose through meditation and intention with presence. Lori also has an incredible ability to ask thought-provoking questions that challenge me to dig deep and uncover hidden barriers and self-limiting beliefs. Through this process, I gained a profound understanding of myself and the power to overcome obstacles that have historically held me back.

At the conclusion of our work together, I prepare Essence words for my clients that describe their essential selves. It's a detailed process, and Chris was nervous about taking it on. But he left knowing and feeling his true essence of being genuine, humble, caring, inclusive, kindhearted, and passionate!
