At our core, we are stillness and silence.
Happy Sunday, friends!
Time after time I find myself returning to the power of stillness. This week I'm reminding myself of the words of the writers and meditation teachers who inspire me to look within, including Davidji, whose powerful post I shared on Instagram recently: "There are many kinds of activity but only one stillness and one silence. Every time we meditate we connect to that space…that nothingness…that NO THING ness."
Read on for a simple meditation to help you reconnect with yourself and find a deeper sense of peace and purpose.
Stillness doesn’t mean inaction. In fact, taking time out of each day to meditate opens us up to listening, increasing our capacity to do more and return to our authentic selves.
Exercise: Meditation for People Who Don't Have Time to Meditate
20 minutes a day is a great goal for daily meditation, but sometimes starting small is everything. Set a timer for five minutes and take a moment to meet yourself in stillness: focus on your breath, let your body slow, eyes closed, and simply observe your experience. Continuously showing up for yourself, prepared to listen to your body is a truly transformative practice.
