The Great Resignation
Hi friends,
According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, 4 million Americans quit their jobs in July 2021. We're now living in The Great Resignation, with a tidal wave of workers reaching a breaking point after nearly two years of pandemic stress and impossible workloads.
When it comes to workplace burnout, the issue is an organizational problem, not a personal one. Humility and empathy in leadership go a long way. While some businesses are reexamining company culture and taking steps to look after their employees, there's still a lot of work to be done.
So what if you feel unsupported by your employer? Read on for four small steps towards refilling your tank when stress and burnout take hold.
4 Tips for Battling Burnout:
Slow down
Slow down enough to notice what you are feeling and experiencing, judgement-free.
Don't bury it
Talk to someone: a colleague, family member, therapist, or certified coach.
Just say no
Start setting boundaries & practice saying NO! Realize that self-care is not self-indulgent.
Value yourself
Make yourself important. Practice self-compassion, gratitude, and mindfulness.
