Committing to a fully embodied life

Hi friends,

I'm a big believer in receiving the support I offer, which is coaching. I've been working with a Somatic coach for the last couple of months. My journey includes healing from my own burnout symptoms and releasing them from my memory and physical body. I realized I was not prioritizing taking care of myself, primarily my body. I've also had five surgeries since I departed from corporate America. Along with that comes a lot of healing, chronic pain, and trauma to the body.

One of the reasons why I wanted to work with a somatic coach was to be fully present with what I was experiencing instead of constantly trying to avoid and ignore it. I've recently learned to replace the words and feelings: "I'm broken" with "I'm healing every day in every way!" and "I am powerful, I am healthy, I am strong, and I am well." I am working with my coach on my commitment to connecting to my heart and body to live a healthy and embodied life! This poem on presence supports me in being in my own body, fully present.

For Presence

by John O’Donohue

Awaken to the mystery of being here

and enter the quiet immensity of your own presence.

Have joy and peace in the temple of your senses.

Receive encouragement when new frontiers beckon.

Respond to the call of your gift and the courage to

follow its path.

Let the flame of anger free you of all falsity.

May warmth of heart keep your presence aflame.

May anxiety never linger about you.

May your outer dignity mirror an inner dignity of
soul.
Take time to celebrate the quiet miracles that seek
no attention.
Be consoled in the secret symmetry of your soul.

May you experience each day as a sacred gift woven
around the heart of wonder.
