Surrender, Dorothy!

Hi friends,

There's an iconic moment in the 1939 film The Wizard of Oz when the Wicked Witch of the West hops on her broomstick to write a message in the sky: Surrender, Dorothy! While the witch's words are seen as an ominous threat from above, what if we chose to interpret them as powerful and profound advice?

Last week, I shared my word of 2022 with you: Surrender! The first month of the New Year has already been filled with moments when the sky seemed to be falling. When the world feels overwhelming and out of control it's difficult for us to imagine letting go of anything!

Dorothy doesn't surrender to the Wicked Witch. Instead, she gives herself over to the process of her own journey, eventually finding her way back to Kansas. Surrendering brings us home to ourselves.

Giving ourselves permission to trust in the unfolding of life is a radical act of self-care. When we let go, we're able to connect with the strength and resiliency that has been within us all along.

How are you giving yourself over to the journey this week? Hit reply to respond and I'll see you back here next Sunday.
